Goals of the CORE Toolkit

The toolkit attempts to provide all apostolates with resources to begin, advance, or continue the work for racial equity within our institutions, and to foster collaboration between apostolates to act for racial justice in our wider community.

The work of anti-racism is a life-long commitment and the tools in this kit will continue to expand. There is no right or wrong way to use the toolkit. Rich in our Ignatian heritage is the spirituality of discernment. Your community can begin the exploration for how best to advance this work and how best to utilize the resources in the toolkit. The goals for the toolkit, therefore, are to:

  • Provide tools and a mandate to help apostolates take internal and external action for racial justice;

  • Articulate best practices, benchmarks and plans for actions that enable us to create common goals, urge one another forward and hold mutual accountability;

  • Make this work accessible, replicable, implementable and urgent;

  • Build connection and institutional support behind the leadership of people doing this work.
