Arrupe Coaches

Role of an Arrupe Coach:

  • Support justice and advocacy work to continue on their local campus

  • Help empower students in our collaborative CORE spaces: creating community, leading meetings and talking people through intimidation 

  • Model and push students to think personally about the work without commodifying other people’s stories or over-relying on intellectualized statistics

  • Be ambassadors for the program

  • Structure of the program:

    • Regular check in with that group to share notes, meetings once a month to talk about local work on campus

    • 2 train the trainer sessions

    • Help lead the prep sessions for Advocacy Summits

    • Do 1-2 school to school coaching calls

    • Help to lead activities and reflection at the summit

    • 2 students per school w at least 3 schools being involved in the pilot year

  • Requirements for coaches: 

    • Attended summit last year

    • Small application process, nominated by school staff

  • Recognition of the coaches:

    • Program will culminate in certificate from Provincial and perhaps some kind of ceremony

    • Arrupe Coaches will be recognized in media from Jesuit Province, Conference and partners 

    • Arrupe Coaches will be prioritized for local programs, at the discretion of their local faculty and organizational staff.
