A pilgrimage of hope in action led by youth
Sacramento | April 19-20th, 2026
Vision & Purpose: To prayerfully journey to Sacramento and convene 500 Catholics from across California at the state capitol to lift up Care for Creation as a central Catholic issue. We are led by youth, centering their leadership as prophetic pilgrims of hope and seeking to make a direct impact on state legislation.
The event begins with an optional Sunday afternoon of workshops, preparation, prayer and social time. On Monday April 20th, students participate in a mass public witness at the State House followed by legislative advocacy meetings led by students.
Catholic school and parish youth delegation members are invited to participate on 2 levels:
General Participant: These students will get trained on advocacy bills selected by the student leadership team, attend a virtual advocacy training on Tuesday April 14th at 7pm, and should be prepared to work with their school delegation to prepare for their advocacy meetings. General participants must attend the virtual student training on Tuesday, April 14th at 7pm. Further training will also be available Sunday evening of the summit.
Members of the Leadership Planning Team: These students will lead the summit, including doing the research to select our bills and train the larger student delegation in their key points, as well as designing and leading the public witness. Student leaders must attend 4-online preparatory sessions to build community, identify the bills we will focus on, and prepare to train other students on the legislation. Students on this team should be prepared to meet Tuesdays at 7pm on:
